We often get asked why Check Point is one of the few commercial products we support, sell and actually like. Well, it goes like this:
- Centrally Managed – you can manage hundreds/thousands of firewalls from one point
- Mature – The product has been around a long time and has stood the test of time
- Integrated IPS – Any doesn’t have to mean ANY, it can mean “everything except this bad stuff”, that’s the power of integrated IPS
Lots of products claim these features these days but Check Point’s product line has had them for a very long time. Sure, they’ve had different names and assorted development tracks but the bottom line is their competitor’s have not figured out a way to do perimeter security better. Yes, contrary to what you have heard, you do still have a perimeter and it still needs protection.
